To everyone searching for "WoW WTB" and finding my blog: it stands for "want to buy."
Also, WTS is "want to sell," and Blizzard has a whole list of common World of Warcraft terms and their meanings on their website. You might find it helpful.
As for everyone else, what can I say? It's noob season.

I enjoy how Blizzard clearly doesn't like certain acronyms.
MOB - "MOB" is an old programming acronym of Mobile Object Block. Mobs are all computer controlled characters in the game. You should likely use some other term such as monster, creep, or bad guy.
Because nothing says 'I'm not a total noob' like telling everyone how you aggroed 30 "bad guys" on your long run from Darnassus to Ironforge.
I like Blizzard's list; it helped me tremendously starting out. However, there are some terms in common usage that are missing from Blizzard's list.
- Farming: skinning, mining, or herb gathering either for sales on the AH or for crafting.
- Using the word "rare" or "elite" as a noun in reference to a mob.
- pwn or pwned. Pronounced as if the p's were o's. It means to be dominated in combat (usually in an embarrassing way).
- I've seen various abbreviations for "disenchant," such as DE.
- DC means your computer got disconnected from the server.
- Ding! means you leveled up.
Yes by all means use Ding!
I met up with a new player who would say "Level up!" every time they dinged...frightening experience.
LFM - Looking for More
VC - Van Cleef, Deadmines
DM - Dire Maul
BM - Black Morass
Slabs - Shadow Labs
Stocks - The Stockaide, instance inside Stormwind.
RFC - Rage Fire Chasm, instance inside Orgimmar.
WTE- Want to Enchant
Man, there's like tons more.
Luciel, I'll bet that was an Asheron's Call player. When you leveled in AC, the screen would pop up "Level Up!" "Ding" is from Dark Age of Camelot (and possibly Ultima Online).
As long as we're making lists, our guild & its allied brethren use UFG ("up for grabs") to offer up free items to guildmates. It's become less common with the guild bank system, but I always liked that one.

Maybe true, but who really cares about the opinion of an ignorant tween? These are the same idiots that would rather use 'Toon' than 'Avatar'
